I have lived on the East End for well over 40 years and remain continually inspired by the beauty that surrounds us. A walk on the beach leaves its mark in my hands as I intuitively form the clay, balanced on my lap, using minimal tools, allowing my touch and sense guide the way. It is a deeply meditative process for me, balancing my sense of self. The sand dunes, the early morning light, a foggy day, waves of the ocean, soft beach pebbles all leave their mark in my work.

About the Work

Adrienne Fierman is a ceramic artist in Eastern Long Island whose handbuilt forms emerge through an intuitive dialogue between her hands and the clay. Through pinching and stretching, she allows each piece’s shape to organically reveal itself, embracing imperfection.

Adrienne studied at Greenwich House, Anderson Ranch and Parsons School of Design, but it was her experience at Taos Pueblo, New Mexico where she learned to trust and “listen to the clay”. Her work conveys balance and serenity, and a connection to the natural world.

Adrienne’s ceramics are in the permanent collection at Onna House, East Hampton, and numerous private collections. Her work has also appeared in Elle Decor.
