This painting is a response to the extraordinary reverence I experience in the presence of the nature on the East end of Long Island. The inherent magic of movement, light, and scale, combined with my perception lead me to move beyond literal references in traditional landscapes to capture the visceral, often fleeting qualities of nature - particularly the coastal light of the Hamptons.
About the Work
Beth Barry is an abstract-landscape artist based in NYC and East Hampton, NY. She studied Studio Art at Connecticut College and Art Therapy at Pratt Institute. Her work is deeply rooted in her connection to nature and explores the emotional resonance of the natural world.
She has exhibited her work extensively, with notable venues including The Painting Center and Carter Burden Gallery in NYC, Karyn Mannix Contemporary and the White Room Gallery in Easthampton, NY. Internationally, her artwork has been showcased at the Coupelouvous Family Museum, Athens; Masterworks Museum, Bermuda; Shanghai Global Harbor, Shanghai, China.
