I have always been inspired by the light and landscape of the East End. The North Fork has given me a deep appreciation for the simplicity of barns, cottages, and other humble structures within the landscape. Their vulnerability and gradual disappearance have made preserving these places on canvas something of a personal crusade.

This barn, located in Riverhead, was transformed by the late-day sun, creating a magical dance of dappled light and shadow. I love to push the contrast between light and darkness to create visual interest and mood, while capturing the quiet beauty of these familiar places.

Through my paintings, I hope to preserve not only the structures themselves, but also the feeling of a particular time and place—and to evoke a sense of nostalgia in the viewer.
