About the Work
Lisa Rose is a soft pastel artist working between Vero Beach, Florida, and East Hampton, New York. Her practice centers on impressionistic landscape painting, with a particular focus on coastal environments, sunsets, and marine atmospheres. Working primarily en plein air, she employs soft pastels to capture the immediacy of natural light and the subtle transitions of sky, water, and horizon.
Rose’s work is distinguished by its luminous color palette, expressive marking, and emphasis on mood over detail. Her paintings reflect a sustained engagement with the sensory and emotional qualities of the landscape, inviting contemplation of nature’s most transient moments.
Her artistic achievements include a feature in the Art & Theater section of 32963 and a cover feature in Vero Beach Magazine, underscoring her growing presence within the regional arts community. Rose has exhibited at the renowned Under the Oaks Fine Arts Show, Waldo’s Secret Garden, and the Vero Beach Museum of Art, further establishing her connection to the cultural life of the region. She is also an active member of the Vero Beach Art Club and the Artist Alliance in East Hampton.
Dividing her time between Florida’s Atlantic coast and the East End of Long Island, Rose continues to draw inspiration from the shifting coastal light and the dynamic interplay of color and atmosphere that define these environments.
